TIP OF THE DAY : Local events, charities or special causes? Your promotional products can link your brand to an important date or event whilst raising awareness!

MARKETING HINTS AND TIPS...

-    Communication, communication, communication! Be sure to include contact information on your promotional products. Including web address’ or telephone numbers are effective ways to encourage your clients to contact you!

-     Exhibition? Shop Counter? Office? The location of where you are planning to give away your promotional products needs to be considered when choosing the right product for you! Shop counter? You will need smaller items whereas an exhibition can benefit from eye catching purchases!

-     Packaging - It is possible to add an extra touch to packaging with certain items. Either enhancing with full colour printing or mugs for example can come in various packaging options from a more simple to extravagant effect!

-    How long do you want your recipient to keep the item? Will it be a short but sweet confectionary product? Or a durable pen that keeps going and going?

-    Promotional Products can be more than just freebies; they are a fantastic way to advertise the launch of new products and services or to increase recognition of your brand!

-    Think of your audience! Will your recipient make use of the product? Age, occupation, gender, income, personal interests are all things to consider when appealing to your customers!

-     The beating heart of your company! Promotional products don’t just have to be for advertising - Employee incentives and company parties can benefit from your promotional products too!

-     Choosing your branding method! Have you considered what type of finish you would like on the product? For example some products are open to different methods of branding such as engraving, pad print or digital prints.

-     The more unique your giveaway, the more likely you are to be remembered!

-    As the saying goes “Treat others how you would like to be treated…” The equivalent in the promotional product industry… “Don’t give a product that you yourself would not be happy to receive!”

-     Items such as calculators or desk calendars will be seen every day by your potential clients, keeping you at the forefront of their minds!

-      Remember, you gave away branded products for recognition. Not getting any? Follow up those who you gave them to! Great points of conversation for current business relations, If not just for feedback for future campaigns!

-      Will you follow the crowd? Or make a lasting statement? Be creative and set yourself aside from the rest, perhaps by including a tag line, a phrase or with an interesting novelty item?

-     Double promotion! Consider promotional tee shirts or caps. Getting your name out there for all to see, not only for your potential client wearing them, to others throughout the day!

-     Know your products! When promoting your company with a certain item e.g. an eco-cotton shopper bag, explain the benefits! Its not just reusable time and time again – it is helping the environment!

-      Limited time scales can potentially leave you with fewer, perhaps less desirable options - wherever possible, ensure you plan ahead or allow sufficient time to select the optimum product to showcase your brand!

-      A gesture aside from the expected seasonal occasions can grab your customer’s attention at a time when your competition isn’t! Such as anniversaries, birthdays, birth of a child or weddings.

-     Take a look at your competitors - very similar promotions? Will the impact set you aside from your direct competition? This is an important thing to consider when selecting the right products for you!

-     Banished to cupboards, kept under draws? I’m sure you don’t wish this fate for your promotional item! An important question to ask yourself is “Will my customer use/ want this?”

-      Don’t be disheartened by a limited budget! There are a number of products out there which may still cater to your needs. Our low cost motivator’s brochure will outline products best suited to lower budgets.

-      Cheap and Cheerful? Remember- Promotional Products represent you as a business and your brand identity, so ensure the product you choose portrays the desired message!

-     Your product choice is perfect… your brand identity is showcased to a Tee… Everyone wants a piece! Don’t get caught short, unit prices on larger quantities saves pennies!

-     Spread the word! Gifts such as promotional pens always change hands, giving more opportunity to promote your brand to others!

-      Not just a one-hit wonder? Ensure the items you are likely to reorder aren’t from discontinued ranges. Makes for quick and easy second, third or even fourth purchases!

-     Fail to plan, plan to fail! Have clear goals for each step of the promotion. Having reference to this makes it much easier to save time and avoid pitfalls in future!

-     Professional, elegant and regal? Does this describe the ideal representation of your brand? Higher end clientele are likely to appreciate crystal champagne flutes or a flamboyant gift set over a bendy eraser or simple tee shirt.
